Description

Helping horses live healthier lives...

What?

Adaptogenesis is a product containing 5 adaptogenic and supportive herbs that have been used in many countries, and for many centuries. There are no fillers or preservatives, so as not to diminish the effectiveness of the herbs, and to make sure not to introduce unecessary chemicals into the horse’s body. It is made of human grade herbs certified kosher and lab-tested. There is also an organic formula.

How?

The horse’s body is made up of 11 different organ systems. Each one must function properly in order for the horse to perform at its maximum potential. Proper nutrition is certainly the most important factor, along with the avoidance of environmental toxins. Adaptogenesis works at the cellular level to help the body adapt to its environment more effectively. It specifically targets the adrenal glands, which are responsible for creating and releasing stress hormones, and minimizes the release of cortisols. It stimulates the immune system, helping to fight infections. It also helps to repair the liver, which is a large part of the filtration system of the body.

Why?

Our environment is overwhelmed with toxins, genetically modified organisms, synthetic chemicals, and processed foods. All of these factors, combined with regular stresses, can cause the body to be in a state of low-level chronic stress, which leads to many imbalances in the horse’s body. We perceive this as a multitude of conditions depending on the organ system involved.

Connections

The organ systems are interconnected. The body’s methods of communication are chemical and electrical signals. The endocrine system includes the HPA axis (hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenals) and sends a variety of hormone messages. This system is elegantly connected to the nervous system, especially the SAS (sympathoadrenal system), allowing for rapid communications. This connection is especially important for stress situations. The elegant communications allow the body to effectively deal with stressors. However, if left unchecked, this survival mechanism can lead to chronic stresses that unbalance organ systems. Adaptogens help the organ systems adapt to stressors through various chemical mechanisms.

In addition, the jobs we ask our horses to do require them to rebalance themselves mentally, emotionally, and physically. If the horse is already compromised due to other stressors, it will have a difficult time rebalancing all the stressors at the same time. Allergies: when nothing environmentally present, so body finds something to fight. Cancers: immune system cannot handle all stressors; in normal bodies T, B, NK cells kill cells with bad DNA.Anxieties: imbalances, further stress systems

In summary, we can help horses that have many different conditions. Because Adaptogenesis helps the body to rebalance itself, conditions ranging from poor skin and hooves (even chronic low-level laminitis) to sarcoids and anhydrosis have been helped by the product. It has been used on horses with chronic Lyme symptoms. We have seen recovery in the immune system as evidenced by an increase of WBC levels from the use of Adaptogenesis after treatment with antibiotics. We are now exploring even more possibilities of the animals and conditions that it can help, including wound treatment.

About Us

Helping horses live healthier lives...

Our Company

I started Adaptogenesis as a way to help horses heal themselves of the conditions caused by environmental stressors. I believe that their bodies were designed to heal themselves, and if we can provide support for that function, they will do exactly that.

I have used my education (B.S. Biology, B.A. Psychology, M.S. Biology) to research and develop Adaptogenesis as a powerful support for immune function, energy synthesis, and peak conditioning of the body.

It has been used for the following conditions:

  • To increase and sustain energy
  • To combat anhydrosis
  • To improve hoof texture and growth
  • To support overall resistance to colds & allergies
  • To enhance the treatment of equine sarcoids in conjunction with another topical treatment.

Testimonials

Helping horses live healthier lives...

“Berlin showed a marked improvement in his overall health within one week on Adaptogenesis. The most favorable change are his hooves – with consistent use of Adaptogenesis, his feet maintain perfect balance, they are never too dry or too soft. An incredible difference! All sarcoids are gone now. An interesting discovery was the rapid improvement of his pulse and respiration rates during the hot summer months. Even with temperatures in the 90’s with 80% humidity, Berlin was asking to GO! Amazing! Thank you so much for this wonderful product!”

“I started my 23 year old quarter horse “Spirit” on Adaptogenesis the end of August because he does not sweat. After using it for about 3 weeks he was still not sweating, but when we came back from a trail ride there was a big change in his respiration. Usually he would be breathing fast and rather labored and you could tell it was hard on him. Then I noticed that he would be breathing fast because of the exertion, but it was not labored and he seemed very relaxed. When I hosed him down his respiration would go back to normal within minutes compared to before when it could take up to 30 minutes to get him back to normal breathing. About the middle of November the next change was that he did start sweating a little, not near what he needed to do but it was a start. By December he was sweating just standing in his stall when it is extremely warm and is doing great when he is being exercised or out riding.”

“I am thrilled with the results I have seen in the health and coat condition of my three thoroughbreds since they started taking Adaptogenesis. All of my horses had significant improvement in quality of their hoof growth and strength. One of my horses is now galloping sound due to the improvement in his soles. This horse had been battling lameness for three years prior to the use of the herbs. All of their coats look amazing and it is apparent my horses are thriving with the help of Adaptogenesis . It is amazing how a small quantity of the herbs produce such great results, which makes it feasible to ensure the herbs remain a staple in my feeding program.”
